Richard P. Johnson, Ph.D. – Founder
Dr. Johnson is a nationally recognized spokesperson in the field of retirement and adult development, having written and lectured extensively in those fields. He is the former president of the American Association for Adult Development and Aging, and the founder of Retirement Options; an assessment, publishing and training firm offering consultation in mature career/life planning, as well as empowering individuals for the changes necessary in the new information economy.
Dr. Johnson is the creator of the Retirement Success Profile©, the LifeOptions Profile©, and the Retirement Options© program, developed from over 20 years of retirement research and dedicated to helping people lead enriched and fulfilling lives in their retirement years.
Joanne Waldman, M. Ed. – Training Director
With more than 15 years progressive experience in the career transition field encompassing career development, coaching, counseling, relocation, and work/life areas, Joanne has coached many individuals to change their careers, plan their retirement, or achieve personal goals. She now has her own coaching practice- New Perspective Coaching (www.newperspectivecoaching.com). Currently Joanne also enjoys training other life coaches as a Teleclass Leader for International Coach Academy and serves as the Training Director for Retirement Options, training coaches to use a non-financial retirement assessment that looks at the 15 factors necessary for a successful retirement. In addition, Joanne offers training courses and mentoring for coaches in the career and retirement niches.
Joanne worked as a Senior Consultant for The Impact Group, a leading career/life consulting firm. Over the years, Joanne has served as a consultant to many companies in the process of downsizing and /or relocating and worked with professionals at a number of Fortune 500 companies including Monsanto, AT&T, General Motors, McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) and Chrysler Corporation.
Corine T. Norgaard, Ph.D., C.R.C. – President and Owner
Corine T. Norgaard holds a Ph.D. degree from the University of Texas-Austin and is a Retirement Options Certified Retirement Coach. Dr. Norgaard has been a member of the faculty at the University of Florida, UCLA, University of Connecticut, Binghamton University and the University of Hartford. She was Dean of the School of Management at Binghamton University and also Dean of the Barney School of Business at the University of Hartford. During those years she presented seminars to various companies, wrote numerous articles for business periodicals and published a number of textbooks. Dr. Norgaard worked two years as the president of Thompson Enterprises, a small real estate investment firm.
Dr. Norgaard serves on the board of 36 funds for ING, an equal number of funds for MassMutual and is on the board of the Connecticut Health Foundation. She is an active volunteer serving on the Board and as Chair of the Foundation of Windham Hospital, the board of the area’s land trust and the Northeast Economic Alliance, a group that provides financing for small companies that are not eligible for bank loans.
Dr. Norgaard is dedicated to letting other people know that retirement is a major life transition and one that often requires analysis and assistance from a trained retirement coach.
